aespa breaks into the UK Top 100 as LEMONADE powers a chart first
aespa's LEMONADE debuts at No. 95 on the UK Official Singles Chart, with No. 13 downloads and a No. 9 Billboard 200 start for the album.
aespa's second studio album title track ‘LEMONADE’ has entered the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 at No. 95. This marks the first time an aespa song has appeared on the UK main singles chart.

The confirmed numbers are not just No. 95. During the same week, ‘LEMONADE’ also reached No. 13 on the Singles Download Chart and No. 15 on the Singles Sales Chart. Since the purchase-related chart rankings were higher than the main chart position, the group that moved first in the UK was closer to the fans who directly purchased the new song rather than the general public.
UK Official Singles No. 95 Debut
The ‘LEMONADE’ page on the Official Chart shows a peak position of No. 95. Although it is a position near the bottom of the Top 100, entering the UK main singles chart is not an easy gateway for a K-pop group.
This chart is a main chart that reflects multiple indicators such as local streaming and sales. At this stage, it cannot be concluded that aespa immediately achieved a massive streaming hit in the UK. However, the No. 13 in downloads and No. 15 in sales support the interpretation that the fandom's purchasing behavior served as a stepping stone for the main chart entry.
US Billboard 200 No. 9 and Album Sales No. 2
While the response to single purchases was seen first in the UK, album-unit performance led the way in the US. The second studio album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart.
First-week album units were tallied at 41,000, with traditional album sales accounting for 34,500 of that total. In the same tally, on-demand audio streaming reached 6.73 million. Rather than just one new song being consumed rapidly, it is more accurate to say that the fan base, who purchased and verified the entire album, drove the initial results.
Purchase indicators were also captured in Japan. On the Billboard Japan Download Album Chart, ‘LEMONADE’ recorded No. 1 with 656 downloads. While different in nature from a large-scale streaming hit, the fact that there is a layer of people buying the new album in file units aligns with the No. 13 download ranking in the UK.
MV Metallic Texture and 10-Track Album Composition
The official MV did not rely solely on the bright summer imagery easily associated with the title. While lemon-colored sets appear, the screen frequently shifts between cold metallic textures and dark spaces. In the group dance scenes, sharp, angular movements are seen rather than just large motions.
This choice aligns with the futuristic image that aespa has built up. They managed to maintain the team's existing texture even while presenting an easy-to-understand title.
The album, based on the official music page, consists of a total of 10 tracks. The pre-released track ‘WDA (Whole Different Animal) (Feat. G-DRAGON)’ is the first song, followed by the title track ‘LEMONADE’ in second place. Tracks featuring overseas collaborations, such as ‘Switchblade (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign)’, are also included. The fact that the buzz-worthy collaboration track and the title track immediately follow each other at the start of the album also coincides with the first-week purchase response.
If they remain in the UK Top 100 next week, it can be seen as a signal that listening outside the purchasing fandom has begun. If they drop out in one week, the weight will lean toward the first entry being more dependent on fandom purchases. In the US, it will be worth watching how slowly album sales decline, and in Japan, whether physical albums and streaming follow the No. 1 download album ranking. However, the currently confirmed first-week achievements can be summarized as the UK debut, No. 2 in US Top Album Sales, and No. 1 in Japan Download Albums.
