Park So Dam revisits Parasite and Europe trip on Gourmet

Park So Dam will visit a Yangpyeong table on the June 7 episode of TV CHOSUN's Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey. The episode is set to move from behind-the-scenes stories from Parasite to the time she spent after surgery and then to memories from a 34-day solo trip through Europe.

Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey is scheduled for Sundays at 7:50 p.m. In the June 7 broadcast, Park So Dam travels to Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi Province and, over a meal, looks back in order on her signature work, a period away from the spotlight and the travel record she later left behind.

At the Yangpyeong table, Park So Dam will discuss filming Parasite, including the story behind the scene in which heavy rain floods a neighborhood. She explains that the sequence was not created at an actual location but realized on a large-scale set. Parasite remains the work that imprinted Park So Dam's name on global audiences.

Her recent career, however, has not stopped with Parasite. After that film, she fronted the action movie Special Delivery, a project that put physical speed and driving action at the center. She also appeared in the TVING series Death's Game, where the genre premise required a cold, dry presence from her performance.

The broadcast also touches on the break that followed Park So Dam's 2021 surgery. Her health issue became public in December 2021 through an official statement from her agency, Artist Company. At the time, the agency said she had been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer during a regular checkup and had already completed surgery. That period overlapped with promotional activity for the release of Special Delivery.

In this episode, Park So Dam does not appear to separate the health issue from the rest of her story. Instead, based on the preview that has been released, the subject is placed among travel, work and memories from filming sites. The emphasis is less on the name of the illness itself and more on the time that followed and the process of returning to activity.

In the June 7 episode, memories of her representative work, an officially confirmed break, her travel record and her recent genre projects are brought together as one continuous story.
